May has a way of bringing a lot to the surface, especially with last weekend’s Mother’s Day sitting right in the middle of it.

For some women, it’s joyful. For others, it’s tender. And for a lot of us, it’s both at the exact same time. It can stir up gratitude alongside grief, connection alongside longing, and memories we treasure right next to relationships we’re still trying to make peace with.

So, this month, inside The AWAKE Collective, we’re talking about chosen family…. The people who became home. The people who stayed. The relationships that held us through changing, unraveling, rebuilding, and becoming.

And we’re also making room for grieving the people who didn’t stay, too.
