Welcome back to Just One More Thing — the Substack-only bonus where I ask our guests a few quick questions we didn’t get to in the main For the Love episode.
Last week on the podcast, parenting expert Mandy Grass joined us for a compassionate, practical conversation about kids’ behavior, shame-free parenting, and why so much of the work actually begins with us as parents. If you haven’t listened yet, the full episode is packed with insight for anyone navigating life with small (or not-so-small) humans.

But in this bonus moment, Mandy shared a few personal glimpses behind the parenting expert title:
🏡 A secret dream: To create a home that stays a gathering place for her kids and their friends well into their twenties — the kind of house where everyone still wants to show up. (Pro tip from the conversation: keep a well-stocked “teen fridge.”)
⛷️ A tiny joy: Skiing as a family. Now that her partner’s kids have learned, they spend their days on the slopes together — coordinating meetups on walkie-talkies like a little winter adventure team.
💛 A brave step: Two things, actually — diving headfirst into social media to share her work, and blending her family with her partner’s family, creating a new life together for all of their kids.
Sometimes bravery looks like learning a new platform.
Sometimes it looks like building a bigger table.
